Doctor Pegoli was born in Genova, Italy in 1969.
He graduated at Genova University Medical School in 1994 and completed his residency program in Orthopaedics and Traumathology in 1999.
He got a research fellowship in hand surgery at Harvard University Hand Service, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA and a clinical fellowship at Hirosaki University, Japan.

From 2001 till June 2012 he worked at the Hand Surgery Unit, Policlinico Multimedica, Plastic Surgery Department University of Milan as Chief of Hand Unit Trauma Service.
From September 2012 collaborates with Humanitas San Pio X Clinic Hand Unit, Milan
From November 2017 is consultant for Hand and Wrist Conditions at J Medical, Turin
From 2005 to 2012 he was contract professor at Vita e Salute University, Saint Raffaele Hospital, Milan.
He is co founder and past president of WRISTH - World Research Institute for Sport Traumatology of the Hand and founder and Segretary General of ISSPORTH – International Society for Sport Traumatology of the Hand.
He is the actual President of the Sport Commission of the International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand - IFSSH
Doctor Pegoli collaborates with important International Institutions such as the Australian Institute of Sport and many sport teams, among them GreenEDGE cycling
He is a member of the Italian Society for Surgery of the Hand and a member of other international societies among which are the European Wrist Arthroscopy Society, The INternational Society for Sport Traumatology of the Hand and the Japanese Society for Surgery of the Hand. He speaks English fluently, and Spanish and Japanese moderately.
SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY
It consists, apart the attendance to more then 100 national and international meetings related to hand surgery, of the publication of papers on national and internationals journals and books chapters.
He is a Faculty member of the European Wrist Arthroscopy Society and held courses in many foreign Institutions. He collaborates with foreign Universities such as the University of Hong Kong and the Keio University, Tokyo, Japan.
He is a full member of the Italian Society for Surgery of the Hand. He was a member of the outcome commision, editorial board and at present European Delegate.
